Position: Nurse Practitioner
Location: Charlotte Courthouse, Virginia
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate knowledge and perform tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures; support philosophy, objective and goals of the medical unit
Accept staffing assignments and perform other related duties as required
Promote quality assurance standards through thoroughness and completeness of tasks
Develop and maintain professional relationships with patients, visitors, medical personnel and correction staff
Respect, dignity and confidentiality of patient medical information/history
Promote good working relationships among staff and between other disciplines and departments
Provide leadership to other staff
Promote excellence in patient care
Assume individual accountability for own conduct and maintenance of professional appearance
Participate in medical activities in corrections which promote the growth and development of medical professional staff and/or patient care
Approach changes in a positive manner, motivate staff to work as a team, accept constructive criticism and learn from it
Provide on-call services as assigned by the facility and/or company needs
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioners program; Masters degree in Nurse Practitioner Studies
Licensure/Certification/Registration: must have prescriptive authority for licensure to prescribe
Active state licensure for Advanced Practice Nurse
Must hold certification as a Nurse Practitioner from approved certifying body
Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved)
