Director, Family Across the Lifespan Nurse Practitioner Program

Carlow University's Graduate School of Nursing seeks an experienced educator to assume the faculty role and Director of the Family Across the Lifespan Nurse Practitioner Program. This is a full-time, tenure-track position (9-month + summer stipend) located on the Oakland campus in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This position is projected to begin on August 15th, 2025. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with educational preparation and experience.

The Program Director will have primary responsibility for directing the Family Across the Lifespan Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program, with additional duties of teaching, service, and scholarship. Primary teaching responsibilities will focus on the graduate FNP program's significant courses, as well as core, shared MSN courses.

Required Experience:

  • All candidates must have a doctorate (DNP, PhD, EdD, or another related degree), a master's degree in nursing, and be eligible for Pennsylvania State Professional Nurse licensure as a certified registered nurse practitioner, hold prescriptive authority and national certification as a Family Across the Lifespan Nurse Practitioner.
  • Three years of teaching experience in a FNP program or related experience.
  • Minimum five years of clinical experience in the FNP role. Evidence of current practice.
  • Evidence of or potential for an active program of scholarship/research
