Things You Will Do As a Certified Nurse Midwife, you'll provide comprehensive care that empowers and supports patients throughout their reproductive journey. Your duties will include: Conducting prenatal checkups, monitoring fetal development, and performing essential screenings. Assisting and managing labor and delivery, ensuring safe and positive birth experiences. Providing postpartum care, including breastfeeding support and maternal health monitoring. Performing gynecological exams, contraception counseling, and reproductive health education. Educating patients and families about pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care. Collaborating with obstetricians, pediatricians, and allied healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care. Staying updated with best practices and innovations in midwifery and maternal healthcare. Adapting to changing patient needs and operational priorities. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) license. Master's degree in Nurse Midwifery from an accredited program. Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) certification. Current certifications in: Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Life Support (PALS) Strong clinical judgment, decision-making abilities, and excellent communication skills. Knowledge of midwifery practices, including normal and high-risk pregnancy management. Public Health clearance is required, including immunization records for Hepatitis A/B, MMR, Varicella, Influenza, and a recent negative TB test or chest x-ray. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems. Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish is a plus. Ability to thrive in high-paced, stressful environments and adapt to shift changes based on operational needs. Physical Requirements and Work Conditions Work is primarily performed in clinical and birthing environments. Ability to stand for prolonged periods during patient care.
