Job Description Summary:
The Physician Assistant Surg/Critical Care works in collaboration with the physician in the hospital-based inpatient setting working with critically ill and injured patients; primarily in the ICU or progressive units including trauma, neonatal, inpatient cardiology, emergency room and surgical services. Perform very invasive procedures and requires high level of independent clinical decision-making.
Responsibilities And Duties:
Works under direction and in consultation/collaboration with physician. Assesses and evaluates patients, H&Ps, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, etc. Assists in diagnostic and invasive procedures. Pre-operative and post-operative care, writes orders, discharges, etc. Promotes quality outcomes and initiatives. In the hospital the PA needs a Supervisory Physician Agreement submitted to the Medical Board of Ohio yearly review w Practice to submit to State Medical Boar d . Practices within applicable state laws, appropriate boards, and in accordance with his/her standard care arrangement and delineation of privileges.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (Required)BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, NCCPA - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants - American Association of Physician Assistants
